Members may not serve on the committee if they are a relative of an applicant for consideration by the selection committee. “Relative” is defined as a parent, sibling, stepparent, grandparent, step-grandparent, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, or first cousin.
Recipients of this award are selected solely based on an essay on how the sport of running has changed, impacted, or influenced the student's life. Candidate selections are based on the content of their essay, not their writing ability.
LRC scholarship awards are not based on Gender, GPA, Financial Need, Community Service, or College Readiness (ACT/SAT). All identifiable information is redacted from the essay.
